Flower Essence Remedy

Flower Essences or Bach Flower Remedy was dicovered in 1920s and 1930s by Dr. Edward Bach, a man of medical sciences who said: "There is no true healing unless there is a change in outlook, peace of mind and inner of happiness". Therefore, true healing arises when emotional balance is restored and aligned with mental and physical states of well-being. He also implied that the cause of illness is an imbalance in emotions and disharmony between the personality and the soul, therefore the unease feeling and discomfort in the body are actually awakenning message calling for a change the thinking pattern and the way of living.


Dr Bach believed flower essences carry the energy of the source plant and take on this envergy to release the unease feeling. The remedies are associated with a basic human emotion to help supporting and balancing the behavior with current emotional situation as well as restoring and re-harmonizing energy. It works on the principle of the natural state of psychological and physical well-being, and believes that healthy emotional state and a balanced behavior will allow us to find its own harmony between soul and spirit and the body. The remedies also help to unblock channels within our minds and activate the vibration of positive emotion that reside deep inside us, which allows us become true to our authentic self and able to approach life more positively.


The system contains 38 remedies, and are devided into seven groups of psychological causes of illnesses.

  • Mimulus

  • Cherry Plum

  • Red Chestnut

  • Rock Rose


The group of flower essence remedies comprises feelings of uncertainty:

  • Cerato

  • Hornbeam

  • Gentian

  • Gorse

  • Scleranthus

  • Wild Oat


The group of flower essence comprises feelings of insufficient interest in present circumstances:

  • Chestnut Bud

  • Clematis

  • Honeysuckle

  • Mustard

  • Olive

  • White Chestnut

  • Wild Rose


The group of flower essence remedies comprises feelings of loneliness:

  • Water Violet

  • Impatiens

  • Heather


The group of flower essence remedies comprises feelings of over-sensitivity to influences and ideas:

  • Agrimony

  • Centaury

  • Holly

  • Walnut



The group of flower essence remedies comprises feelings of despondency or despair:

  • Crab Apple

  • Elm

  • Larch

  • Oak

  • Pine

  • Sweet Chestnut

  • Star of Bethlehem


The group of flower essence remedies comprises feelings of cares for others at the expense of self:

  • Beech

  • Rock Water
